Hongshan Jade

In ancient China, the name given to a kind of jade found in Hongshan and other places, also known as Jade Beast Jue. It is believed to be the earliest prototype of the dragon. However, due to its special appearance, there is a lot of controversy in the archaeological community about whether the jade is defined as a pig or a dragon, and some people believe that it is a bear. Its use is not clear, and it is mostly considered to be a religious ritual vessel, and it is one of the representatives of the jade ware of Hongshan culture.
